Jefferson Elementary School - Monticello, FL |
PraiseBoards can be as elaborate or as understated as the people who create them. There is no right way to decorate a PraiseBoard.
As long as it is filled with encouragement and as long as the PraiseNotes are changed frequently and sent home with children, the
boards are serving their very important purpose.
PraiseBoards can do a lot more than just display PraiseNotes, however. They can show a classroom or group's creativity. They can show
progress being made in certain areas. They can provide incentives for PeaceBuilding youth.

This kindergarten PraiseBoard at Jefferson Elementary does all of the above, and it does it with imagination and
originality.

 |
The title of this motivational PraiseBoard, as you can see in the pink letters above the tissue paper sun, is
"We're All in This Together." What a powerful message to send young PeaceBuilders.

The PraiseNotes on the trunk of the palm tree have been written to the children from people outside their
own classroom.
|
 |
At the top of the palm tree trunk, is a sign reminding children that when the trunk is filled with 20
PraiseNotes from people outside their classroom, they get a pizza party as a reward. This is a great way to encourage young
people to be PeaceBuilders outside their teacher's sphere of influence.

Along with the regular PraiseNotes that decorate the PraiseBoard, students are also praised on cute
octopus cut-outs.

We praise the wise kindergarten teacher at Jefferson Elementary who continues to find creative ways to inspire her
young students to build peace. We are happy to share the inspiration with you.
How will you decorate your PraiseBoard this year? How will you encourage your young people to build peace through
praise? The opportunities to increase peace are endless. |
