St. Mary’s School - Johnson City, TN
To practice and celebrate being PeaceBuilders at St. Mary’s School, each grade level participates in different activities and projects while all working on a common PeaceBuilders theme.

This is a great way to merge PeaceBuilders into your existing curriculum and make it developmentally appropriate to all young people. It also presents a wonderful opportunity for each grade level to share their individual projects with the rest of the school.

Second grade students at St. Mary’s create peace posters. They are simply asked to illustrate things or people that are peaceful. We are pleased to be able to share them with you. The smiles on the children’s faces show their pride and reflect their sense of wellbeing.
Jared proudly holds his peace poster.
Jules is happy to show off her elaborate poster that includes the PeaceBuildersPledge and others symbols of peace.
Stickers and messages of peace make Regina’s poster special.
Philip spreads peace with his creative collage of serene pictures.
Sarah wisely reminds us that peace begins with just one person.
An overjoyed Rodolfo proudly holds his colorful poster of peace.
Vivek cleverly combines pictures and words to illustrate what peace means to him.
Philip’s vision includes music, world peace and faith.
Twinkle’s imaginative poster includes famous PeaceBuilders in history, other peaceful individuals, and her own thoughts about the meaning of peace.
We offer our thanks to the second graders at St. Mary’s for sharing their visions of peace. We praise them for all the thoughtful responses they had to this powerful assignment.

Imagine the peaceful adults these special children of vision will become after years of building peace at St. Mary’s and in their homes and community!
