Rolando School - La Mesa, CA |
Never underestimate the importance of developing a vision for the future. As philosopher and author Alfred A. Montapert so eloquently states,
"To accomplish great things we must first dream, then visualize, then plan... believe... act!"
Children are notorious dreamers. Sadly, as we grow-up, many of us are taught that dreaming is a waste of time. Nothing could be further from the truth!
The problem is not with dreaming, it is with lack of motivation or fear and with the subsequent failure to act on our
dreams and goals.
Between dreaming and action resides vision. In order to make our dreams reality, we must develop a
vision for the future. Before we can create a peaceful culture at our home, organization, or in our
community we must visualize the environment we want to establish.
During their recent PeaceBuilders training, the staff at Rolando School worked in small groups to
create visions of peace for their school.

Smiles, color, and kind words show the vision this group

Happy children and encouraging adults are the focus of this
vision of peace.

This poster shows that peace will be achieved by working together
despite differences to create a culture of appreciation, cooperation
and friendship.

Cooperation is also the theme of this vision of peace in which
encouragement, acceptance and responsibility will lead to harmony and happiness.

The staff at Rolando School began their PeaceBuilders training by turning their dreams into
visions. They will spend the rest of the year and years to come turning their visions into
reality. Their dedication to each other and to the children will make it happen. We praise
these visionaries for daring to dream and for working to make dreams come true.
