| Long Beach WRAP Program - Long Beach, CA |
As a meaningful way to Help Others, the city of Long Beach offers a free after school program for students in the Long Beach Unified School District. This program is funded by the 21st Century Community Learning Center and Community Development Block Grants, and is operated in partnership with LBUSD.
The after school program is called WRAP (Winners Reaching Amazing Potential), and on July 13th, the City of Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine held a fun-filled “Summer Jam” for WRAP participants.
Lafayette Elementary School is one of the many PeaceBuilders WRAP sites. To show their peaceful spirit at Summer Jam, talented students from Lafayette created a routine (with the help of their Wise Person, Ronnese), which they performed to a PeaceBuilders song. |

We know that PeaceBuilders is having a real affect when children choose to represent themselves as PeaceBuilders and when they make an effort to spread peace of their own accord as the children at the Lafayette WRAP program have done.
It is such a joy to share stories that show how PeaceBuilders changes the lives and attitudes of young people. What we are all doing together does make a difference! |
