Meredith-Dunn School - Louisville, KY |
Meredith-Dunn School builds peace in grades K-8. All the students know that they are valued and
appreciated at this exceptional school where the adults work very hard to teach and model the
principles that create a safe and peaceful environment. The eighth graders here also understand
and fulfill their responsibility to be role-models and wise people for their younger peers.
As a tribute to the school (to the staff and fellow students) that gave them so much, outgoing
eighth graders create a mural each year by which they will be remembered. They have been doing
this for many years, and since the school has been practicing PeaceBuilders, the murals have
tended to include peace as a major theme.

A K-8 PeaceBuilders school offers a unique opportunity for older students to be leaders
and wise people by giving them roles and responsibilities that enrich the school's peaceful
culture and help younger students. Meredith-Dunn has made the most of this opportunity. All
the students here build peace: the eighth graders lead the way.
