Morse Pond School - Falmouth, MA
From their very first day at Morse Pond Middle School, students feel safe and welcomed. As a PeaceBuilders Showcase site, Morse Pond is filled with students, staff and parents who practice the PeaceBuilders Principles each and every day. Their commitment to building peace has granted them a distinctive culture of inclusion and unity.

Among the many things Morse Pond does well is to make PeaceBuilders a fundamental aspect of daily instruction and relations. It is not just a pledge they recite each morning; it is a way of life. Being a PeaceBuilder involves action, not merely understanding.

One way children can demonstrate their PeaceBuilders appreciation and commitment is by joining the Morse Pond PeaceBuilders Club. Ms. Kelley and Mr. Griffin serve as club advisors and as Wise People for students in the club.

One of the club’s projects was the creation of a charming, colorful quilt.
All the children in the PeaceBuilders Club have contributed squares of their own design to this masterpiece.
The squares are tied together to signify unity, and the uniqueness of each square indicates the individuality of each young artisan.
The children in the PeaceBuilders Club chose a specific Principle to illustrate: one that is especially meaningful to them, like this quilt square that shows a damaged heart along with an inducement to “Notice Hurts.”
This inspirational work of art hangs proudly in the main hallway at the school’s entrance. It is one of the many visual indications that Morse Pond School is a PeaceBuilders site. Everyone who visits this peaceful campus sees and feels the difference made by the PeaceBuilding staff and students at this school.

We give our sincere praise to the people who work, learn, and mentor at Morse Pond School. These dedicated individuals have established a culture of peace that permeates every classroom, every hallway, and indeed every space at this model PeaceBuilders site.
