Seton Catholic School - Lexington, KY |
Seton Catholic School takes every opportunity to praise young people for building peace at their school. On top of plentiful PraiseNotes and verbal praise, the staff at Seton nominates one PeaceBuilder each week from every grade level: pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. These special PeaceBuilders are featured on the school’s PeaceBoard. |

Seton Catholic School’s January PeaceBoard |
New PeaceBuilders are added to the board each week for four weeks, and then, at the end of the month, all the PeaceBuilders of the Week get together for a special event as a reward for the positive impact they have made on their school and to their peers. Recently, one group was honored to have lunch with the local Bishop. Another group enjoyed having their photos taken with the University of Kentucky Wildcat mascot!
When young people receive praise and recognition for the good they do, they are much more inclined to continue their good works and positive behavior. The staff at Seton does a marvelous job of acknowledging and rewarding students for peaceful acts and attitudes; and the students respond by finding ways to make their school environment safer, more peaceful, and more enjoyable for everyone.
We praise the staff and students at Seton Catholic School for role-modeling the power and the pleasure of praise. |
