Clover Flat Elementary - San Diego, CA Successful implementation of PeaceBuilders requires adult role-modeling, regular use of the common language including saying the pledge daily, and generous use of praise and acknowledgment for good deeds.

There is another important factor in successful implementation that should not be overlooked or underestimated: numerous visual cues of PeaceBuilding on site. At Clover Flat / Jacumba Elementary Compact School in San Diego County, they have made sure that every room, large or small, displays a poster or bulletin board that cues PeaceBuilders. This bulletin board includes the Principles and the pronouncement “I will build peace at home, at school, and in my community each day.” Every classroom and the staff lounge has a PraiseBoard full of PraiseNotes. Even the restroom doors have reminders in the form of a Pledge Poster that this is a PeaceBuilders site. At Clover Flat / Jacumba Compact School, they know that a child’s education must include instruction and coaching about how to build peace in order to improve the world we live in. We are proud of this new PeaceBuilders site where teachers and staff practice the Principles of PeaceBuilders day by day to encourage children to take on the responsibility to build peace in their community, in their school, and in their homes.
