Lemon Crest Elementary - Lakeside, CA
Children at Lemon Crest Elementary School love being PeaceBuilders. They say it makes their school a fun place to be because everyone is nice to each other. Teachers at Lemon Crest say PeaceBuilders helps children solve their own conflicts on the playground and in the classroom, which leaves them more time to teach and enjoy their job.

At Lemon Crest, the students know they share the responsibility to build peace. They are involved at many levels. They keep their school decorated with PeaceBuilders posters and artwork.
Lemon Crest students also remember to practice the PeaceBuilders Principles when they are on the playground.
Fifth graders, Olivia, Cynthia, Alyssia, and Taylor spread peace at recess.
Meet the Lemon Crest PeaceBuilders Cheerleaders: Shayla, Simone, Chloé, Claudia, and Elizabeth. These second graders increase peace with cheers and gymnastics.
A group of third, fourth and fifth grade students serve as PeaceCoaches at this peaceful site. They patrol the playground during recess handing out PraiseNotes. They are leaders who set an example for others to follow.
Fourth graders, Kylie and Sydney are two happy and conscientious PeaceCoaches.
The PeaceCoach program at Lemon Crest has been such a success that more children applied than there are positions available! Some children who used to use their leadership skills to find trouble now use them to build peace as PeaceCoaches!

We praise the wise staff at Lemon Crest for making PeaceBuilding a priority at their school. They keep the children engaged by making it fun and by giving each and every one of them roles and responsibilities that improve the climate at their school.

When you’re looking for ways to make building peace personal and meaningful to students, especially older students including teens, let Lemon Crest be a role-model. They know that children and teens are more likely to buy-in when they are able to share the responsibility and to get recognition for the good work they do.

The children at Lemon Crest are doing great work, and we are proud of the example they set for each other and for all our PeaceBuilders sites all over North America and in U. S. territories.
